The tech entrepreneur has long embraced the role of a hands-on father. One of his most endearing rituals involves crafting imaginative pancake or crêpe breakfasts every Sunday for his two young daughters. It’s a bonding tradition that’s become a staple in the Ohanian household and a recurring feature on his social media feeds.

Taking to X, Ohanian posted a photo of himself making crêpes, captioning the shot: “Crêpe Saturday came a day early because papa was away for work this week.”

In another tweet, Ohanian shared that he fell asleep on FaceTime with his daughter Olympia to comfort her and prevent nightmares, calling her “an angel” and expressing gratitude for their bond.

“I fell asleep on FaceTime with Jr last night to make sure she didn’t have any nightmares thank you God for giving me such an angel.”

When Ohanian Shared Insight into His Pancake Art Ritual for Daughter

In November 2024, Ohanian shared his beloved tradition of making pancake art for his daughter Olympia, joking that creativity sometimes came before taste, so much so that Olympia thought pancakes were meant to look and taste just like his.

“With pancakes, they taste okay. They are not the best possible tasting. Why? Part it’s the consistency. To make them in the squeeze bottle, to make the art I want them to make, they can’t be too fluffy,” Ohanian said.

“Because as they expand, they start to distort the image. So basically the pancake batter that I make doesn’t taste great. It tastes fine but Olympia doesn’t know any better. She just thinks that’s what pancakes look and taste like,” he added.

On a trip to Los Angeles, Olympia had her first taste of professionally made pancakes. Although she liked the flavor, she still missed the charming designs her dad made.

“The fact that she showed any interest in my pancake art meant I need to be the best pancake artist I can. Oh, my baby likes crepes, those are just skinny pancakes. Papa can make those too. So then I get a commercial-grade crepe thing and I perfect the batter. I got it from a French grandmother. I am fanatical. If she shows an interest, I am becoming the expert.”

Inspired by her enthusiasm, Ohanian decided to sharpen his pancake-making skills, even going so far as to buy a commercial crepe maker from a French grandmother to elevate his craft.
